Trying to ID a 1940 Lincoln Continental.

Vic, do you know the guy who owns this car (I know Florida is a big state!)? I’m trying to id the car for the 1940 Continental Registry (1940lzcc.org). Thanks for any leads! Cheers Michael

  1. Hi Michael, yes, I do know Al and I will hopefully see him tomorrow 9/26/26 at a car show near his house. I have mentioned the registry to his son. apparently, they haven’t provided the info on the car to you. I can give you some of the background that I know about the car. It was a California car originally and at some point, the HV-12 was replaced with a Mercury Flathead (early ’50s). I first saw the car on Long Island in the mid ’70s at that time the car had a 460 cu in Lincoln engine with (I believe a C4 automatic transmission). The second time I saw the car was in the mid ’90s at the Street Rod Nationals in Tampa, FL. Around ten years ago I found out that Alan Mevorah had bought the car. I haven’t seen the car for several years but I’m sure Alan still owns it.

  2. Thank you Vic. I always get a kick out of moving one of my “Unidentified” cars to an actual body number. Have fun at the car show and post some photos to the Forum. I need to figure out how to get more people to use it. You’ve been wonderful in making posts and I appreciate it!

    1. Michael, I appreciate the effort you put into the new website, and I know firsthand what a challenge it is to get people involved. If I run into Alan tomorrow, I’ll see if I can get the info on his ’40 LCZZ for you. I’m trying to post a photo here, but it won’t let me do it??? What am I missing?

  3. Good point! I need to add the functionality of adding a photo to a comment. If Alan’s
Car is there please take a few photos of it for me including the Body Number Tag and the Motor Number (the one on the left front cross member is probably obliterated by the replacement engine). The one near the fuel fill pipe might be visible. Thank you. I will let you know when I get the “photo with comment” functionality in place.

    1. I doubt that the car will be at the show tomorrow as Alan is experiencing some health issues (aren’t we all) and most likely won’t be driving. However, if I do see him, I’ll ask if I can go to his house after the show and check out the Lincoln.

  4. Hi Michael, I talked with Alan and his son Keith at the car show today. Keith is going to get the information about Alans ’40 LZCC and let me know. As soon as I get it, I’ll contact you. As for the show, there was a beautiful ’41 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible, I was temped…
